STATUS:

Waiting

Thomas Gainer is an Army veteran who served three years as a Supplies Systems Specialist, supplying Red-1 Infantry with combat warfare systems, and is proud of his military service to our country. After his separation from the Army in 1981, Thomas became a Civil Service Employee training at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. He worked as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in various airports across the country and retired after 30 years of service.

Thomas is a husband to a wonderful wife and a proud father and grandfather, and he jokingly says that they make sure his pockets stay empty! He loves spending time with his family and friends and traveling when he can and understands that eating right and staying healthy are important parts of his life.

Thomas’s kidney issues started around 14 years ago from uncontrolled hypertension, and it took a while to find the right medicines to bring it under control. He will be starting dialysis very soon. His desire is to enjoy life for a long time, and with the gift of restored health, he can do just that. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Thomas? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!

Thomas has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
