Waiting
Stan VonFeldt joined the US Army in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He then served three years of National Guard/Army Reserve duty from 1973-1977. His overseas service was from 1969 to 1970 in the Republic of South Vietnam. While a part of the 9th Infantry Division, he became a squad leader serving in the Mekong Delta.
After his military service, he went back to work in the cable industry and stayed for 40 years, starting as a lineman for Jerrold Electronics and retiring as an Executive Vice-President at Times Fiber Communications, Inc. Stan and his wife Nancy have known each other since high school and have been married for 43 years. They have one daughter Sonja, a son-in-law Armando, and two wonderful grandchildren, Deavin and Rylie.
Stan is a Life Member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, the American Legion, VFW, VVA, and DAV.
In 2022, he had food poisoning, which landed him in the hospital. Between the complications of that illness and his exposure to Agent Orange, his kidneys failed, sending him to immediately need dialysis. He is battling fatigue, but his spirits are good. Stan would love to get back to fishing and hunting, traveling to visit family and friends, and of course, be there for Nancy and his family.
With the gift of a kidney, we can help him accomplish that! Stan has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
