Waiting
Robert Zigler served in the US Army as a Medic after being drafted in 1972 in his junior year at the University of Maryland. He worked at the Army’s Medical Research Center at Fort Detrick working with infectious diseases. Bob asked to take the night shift so he could continue his education. In 1974, he received his degree in government politics and went on to get a law degree. He practiced law, mostly trusts and estates, as a solo practitioner for 45 years, until his partial retirement. He is still tying up loose ends and working on a few cases.
Bob has a daughter and a son and looks forward to his little grandson’s arrival. He has five acres of land where he enjoys raising beef cows and honeybees and has three telescopes that he uses to look at the night sky. Bob is a member of the Rotary, an Astronomy Club, a Bee Club, and is the past President of the Chamber of Commerce, three times over.
Bob was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in 1995, needed both kidneys removed in 2021, and has been reliant on dialysis ever since, causing his debilitating fatigue. Bob is thankful that he has had many donors come forward for him but unfortunately, they were declined. Will you join our mission to find a kidney for Bob whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor? We can make a profound impact on his life and make it possible to watch his grandson grow up!
Bob has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
