Raymond Scott is Co-Founder of 1in9 Charities, Inc. and a kidney disease warrior and advocate. Raymond was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. As a young adult, he served in the U.S. Army, which eventually brought him to Arizona where he met and married his wife Analyn.

Raymond and Analyn reside in the Phoenix area with their two children. "Founders" is more than just a title for Raymond and Analyn, it's intertwined into their destiny. Having defied the odds over the past 24+ years since Raymond's kidneys failed at the age of 29, the Scott’s have taken all they've learned through their own journey to shine a light on kidney disease and help others. In 2016 Raymond was a Celebrity Star Dancer with the National Kidney Foundation of AZ’s Dancing With The Stars - 18 years to the exact day that his kidneys failed.
In 2001 Raymond’s brother Rome, who is a Marine Veteran, donated a kidney to him that blessed him with 5 years of freedom from dialysis.

For the past 10 years Raymond has thrived on Home Hemodialysis and shares the benefits with other dialysis patients. However, his true passion centers around bringing awareness to kidney disease, and championing for prevention and regenerative medicine. In 2019 the Scott's published a compilation book titled 1in9 Tribe - Kidney Disease Warriors Beating the Drum of Hope and Change, in 2020 they completed their documentary A Dance With Destiny, and they launched their 1in9 Tribe Podcast in 2021. From “crashing” into dialysis, through the domino effect that followed, to becoming an advocate for change, Raymond says he would go through it all over again if it was his purpose to be a catalyst for change and to save lives.

Raymond and Analyn trust that God knows exactly how, when, where, and what kidney Raymond is meant to receive and they are truly grateful to those that are inspired and willing to consider donating a kidney to provide him with a new lease on life that will allow him to have greater longevity and freedom to reach and impact more lives with his advocacy efforts.
