Received-Deceased Donor Transplant 9/6/24
Marchello Fields is a 41-year-old Navy Veteran who enlisted in 2002 after graduating from high school and served for eight years. He was a Machinist Mate working on the navigation for the ships, spent time in the Persian Gulf off of the coast of Iraq and did a six-month stint doing humanitarian work along the west coast of Africa.
After his separation from the Navy in 2010, Marchello worked as a contractor in a naval shipyard painting engine rooms and for the last eight years has been a contract specialist purchasing parts for the military and is working from home.
Marchello and his wife Jasmine have been married for 17 years, and have a nine-year-old son Camden. Marchello enjoys traveling and playing sports; his number one sport is basketball, so much that he is coaching for ages 8-9 at the local YMCA! He found out in 2013 that he has polycystic kidney disease (PKD), and his own father received a kidney transplant 10 years ago. Marchello’s energy level has declined, is not yet on dialysis, and would love to receive a new kidney before it becomes a permanent part of his life. Will you consider donating to this husband and father - to give him more time with his family and to have the physical and emotional energy to be fully present in their lives?
Marchello has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
