Arthur Sims is a US Navy veteran who served both active duty and the reserves in the Supply Department as a ship’s service technician. He served out of Norfolk, VA, and found himself deployed to Europe, Africa, and the North Atlantic, and in 1975 helped to evacuate Americans out of Lebanon.
After leaving the Navy, Art received a degree in Business Administration and started working as a federal employee with different jobs over his career, including cashier, ammunition technician, and missile components inspector. Art also worked at the Kennedy Space Center inspecting shuttles and solid rocket boosters, and before his retirement in 2015, he inspected helicopters and F-18 fighter jets at NAS Fort Worth.
Art is a husband of 37 years to Hazel, a proud father, and grandfather; he loves to watch sports on television and spend time swimming in his pool. Art has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and has been reliant on dialysis since 2022. Fatigue is an issue, but dialysis is helping him feel better and is keeping him alive. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Art? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Art has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
