Alex Thomas graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2002 and served four active-duty years at Los Angeles AFB as a contracts manager supporting the development, launch, and sustainment of military satellite programs. He rose to the rank of Captain and valued the camaraderie of his classmates and teammates. Alex enjoyed the satisfaction of knowing his work directly supported the national security of our country.
After separating from the Air Force in 2006, Alex continued to support national defense as a contracts manager for Boeing and Raytheon, and is now with Collins Aerospace. He is grateful that he is healthy enough to continue working for a great company and co-workers and is still able to provide for his family. Alex has been married to a beautiful and supportive wife for 18 years and is the proud father of an amazing 13-year-old daughter. She and his wife are his inspiration to continue fighting every day.
Alex was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2022 and has been on peritoneal dialysis ever since and is thankful it is keeping him alive. He is also battling multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. Because of his kidney disease, he has not been able to travel and has missed numerous family events and his 20-year Academy class reunion. Alex would love to travel again and experience the fullness of God’s creation and prays that will happen soon. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Alex? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Alex has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
