My job in the military was as a Finance Service Specialist in the US Army. I worked directly with the soldiers assisting them with processing financial transactions daily. I also dealt with issues with their military pay in processing and out processing. I also assisted with government payments of the bills for items needed to run the military installations stateside and abroad.  We worked with foreign nationals’ banks in conversion currency as well.

I served 5 active-duty years stateside and abroad in Italy and Southeast Asia. Prior to that while attending college, I was in the Army Reserves for 3.5 years as an Infantry Service Man (11Bravo) in my home state of Arkansas where I trained for field combat duty. My total time serving in the military was 8.5 years in the Army.

Finance was my career while in the military, and I have been in financial services related jobs ever since. I hope to retire one day but for now I work a full-time job at a company that allows me to work from home with medical accommodation. My goal is to not let my illness stop me from supporting my family. I also love to be of assistance to my customers who only hear my voice not my face. I feel like I am still able to be a great help to customers. Life changes, but you should never give up on your services to others.

I have been married for 26 years, and I have two sons Simeone and Trenton, both good boys. They attend college and are studying engineering and hopefully graduating in a few years. I have taught them to always give back and that life is about sacrificing and what you put into it. My dream is to one day watch them both graduate and give back to the world. I have raised my family by being an example of a god-fearing man of God.

My kidney issues began upon my leaving the military and my health has continued to decline.  I have been reliant on dialysis since June 2023. My physical limitations keep me from being able to run anymore consistently. I still workout and cycle and mow my own lawn—enjoying outdoor activities. I’m determined to not allow this to keep me from living a fulfilling life.

I would love to mentor young men to help them become productive men. I am active in my church ministry helping feed the homeless and the needy. Through our food bank and community health services we also have outreach to the elderly for medical services. I am active in my fraternity in the community mentoring young men. “Seeds”- planting good seeds in them as they grow to be great young men who give back to their community. With a new kidney, I would be even more rejuvenated to serve in a larger capacity.

For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Terrance’s life with the other!

Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
