Teddy Boe

My name is Teddy Allen Boe. I was born on May 17, 1948 in Spencer, Wisconsin. In 1967 I joined the Wisconsin National Guard to serve my country. I went to basic training in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and served for six years until my honorable discharge in April of 1973. The 1960’s were a turbulent time and our battery was called upon to assist in controlling the riots at our capital city of Madison.

In my civilian life I worked as a carpenter and built and operated an assisting living home with my wife, Christa, and her family. I have always loved the outdoors with fishing, hunting and wood working that are now physically limited. Family along with faith have always come first for me and are my reasons for pushing forward. I had a heart attack in 2022 and since heart surgery in 2025, my kidney function has continued to decline. I’m currently on peritoneal dialysis 8 hours each night, 7 days a week, to sustain my life since September 2024.

I am sharing my story because I still have more life to live and desire more time to help others. As of March 26, 2026 have been on the active renal transplant list at U.W. Madison Hospital. I am asking you to help by sharing my story or considering being screened as a living kidney donor. Whether you can donate or not, sharing this message will make a difference. Your support could give me a chance for life and that is something I will never take for granted.

We need you to help us support Teddy.  Whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor,  you can make a profound impact!

Living kidney donation has been proven to be safe.  There are no long term consequences to the donor.  After recovery, donors can live a normal life with one kidney.

DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the  evaluation or surgery.
