Hello, my name is Stu, and I am very grateful you have taken the time to read my profile. I am a husband, a father of two, a retired teacher, former tennis player, past theater performer, and U.S. Army veteran in end stage kidney failure. Time working in the military exposed me to harmful chemicals and it appears that’s caught up to my body.
Prior to kidney failure I had a lot more energy. I have come to realize that this energy was such a gift, allowing me to do so much for my family and the community. It fueled my passion for education. In June 2025, I started dialysis to keep me going and my body functioning.
After earning a Master’s Degree in Education, I took great joy in teaching both at the junior high and community college levels, providing students with the tools they needed to achieve their life goals. I was honored to volunteer my time with charitable organizations whose missions are to save lives such as Food For Kidz. I also have a soft spot in my heart for animals in need. We have adopted dogs in the past and I’m currently a proud grandfather of a chihuahua as well as my “grand cats”.
It is my nature to protect and serve, whether it be ensuring the safety of my family, my neighborhood, or my country. As such, I took great pride in my role in the Military Police and earning a medal in Marksmanship during my time stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. People over the years have thanked me for my service but to all of you offering your support in my journey to find a kidney donor and a second chance at restoring my energy, now it’s time I thank you for yours. Bless you all.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Stu’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
