I am Scott Gardner, a proud United States Marine Veteran, who served four years as 0313 LAV Crewman and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. I am a husband to a wonderful woman and a proud father of four beautiful children and one grandson. I enjoy hunting, boating, fishing and all other outdoor activities, and I love spending time with all of my family at the lake.
I am currently the General Manager of a Lube and Auto Center, and I am working full time to provide for my family. I am desperately in need of a Kidney Transplant.
I have a genetic disorder called Polycystic Kidney Disease which has caused my kidney function to diminish drastically, and I am currently considered to have End Stage Renal Disease. I was diagnosed and hospitalized in 2022 with a neurological disorder called GBS, causing my kidney function to have drastically decreased since then.
With Polycystic Kidney disease being a genetic disease, my blood relatives are not candidates to donate. I have had several other non-blood family members go through the vetting process and currently no one is a viable candidate. I recently started Peritoneal Dialysis and do this every night at home for 9 hours. I will remain on dialysis until I find a donor and am able to get a Kidney Transplant. This is a very hard ask but my family and I are very hopeful that I will find a living donor, this would mean that I could get transplanted sooner.
Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for Scott? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life, and the life of his family!
Larry has enlisted the help of a Veteran’s organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
