My name is Ronnie, and I proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years. I began my military career as a Fire Support Specialist, serving for five years before becoming a Logistical Specialist in several different capacities. One of the most rewarding parts of my military career was making sure soldiers had the equipment they needed and, most importantly, that they were taken care of.

During my military service, I was fortunate to serve at Fort Campbell for two tours, as well as in Germany for two tours. I also served at Redstone Arsenal, Fort Hood, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. My years in the Army taught me the importance of service, responsibility, perseverance, and taking care of others.

After retiring from the military, I continued working in several different positions. My last job was as a Security Manager at a nuclear power plant, where I worked for eight years. Eventually, severe health problems forced me to resign.

I have been married to my wife, Debbe, for 15 years. We have three sons, two grandsons, and a granddaughter. My family means everything to me. Debbe has been by my side and has been my caregiver since 2020, when I underwent open-heart surgery.

In 2021, I received a liver transplant. During that time, I was also diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. As my kidney disease progressed, I was placed on the kidney transplant list in December 2025. I am currently registered with Vanderbilt for my kidney transplant. Each trip to Vanderbilt is approximately 240 miles round trip, and we make that drive many times each month. Although the journey has been difficult, we remain hopeful and determined.

I am grateful for every person who has been part of my care and for my family, especially Debbe, who has never left my side. My greatest hope is to receive a kidney and have the opportunity to regain some of the independence and quality of life that I have lost. If I am fortunate enough to receive a transplant, one of the first things I want to do is take Debbe on a well-deserved vacation.

I also look forward to bowling again, working out, doing yard work, and simply enjoying time with my family and friends. After spending so much of my life taking care of others, I want the chance to get stronger, live life again, and make more memories with the people I love. I have spent my life serving others and taking care of my soldiers and my family. Now, I am asking for the opportunity to continue that life. I am ready to fight for it.

We need you to help us support Ronnie.  Whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor,  you can make a profound impact!

Living kidney donation has been proven to be safe.  There are no long term consequences to the donor.  After recovery, donors can live a normal life with one kidney.

DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the  evaluation or surgery.
