I
n 2006, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and my journey really started once I retired. I hit Stage 5 and am working hard to take care of myself by staying active and exercising as much as I can.
I love all sports and volunteering at my local YMCA working with youth. Since I am fully retired, I really enjoy fishing and spending as much time with my family as possible. I have missed years of spending quality time with family when I was active duty and want to make up for lost time!
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Robert’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
