I served in the US Army as a Combat Military Policeman from 1989 to 1996.  While stationed at Ft. Campbell KY, I had the chance to be on the bike patrol riding through the housing area talking with the kids, which I really enjoyed! Although I had a few deployments over my time in the Army, one being to Honduras, I did not experience direct combat.

After my time in the military, I worked for 14 years as a Maintenace Technician for a retirement community, with the last four of those years serving as the Director. I started having health issues, which led to my disability and medical retirement. I really miss seeing the residents smile when I came through the dementia part of the building and hearing them say, “There’s Robert!”…it made my day.

I have been married for 15 years to my soulmate Minister Jacquelyn Webb, who is the love of my life.  I personally do not have children, but I treat my wife’s children and grandchildren as if they are my own. They mean a great deal to me.

I found out about my kidney disease in 2017 and two years later, I found out that my kidney function declined to the point that I needed dialysis. I started hemodialysis in June 2019 and know that finding a living kidney donor is crucial for my survival, and so I can continue to be there for my family.

I am also a double below knee amputee so that puts a lot of physical limitations on me, and I need to rely on my wife for most things. I continue to move forward and still enjoy spending time with my wife, going fishing, growing vegetables in our garden, and worshiping with my church family.

For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Robert’s life with the other!

Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
