My name is Reginald Maxwell, I am 45 years old and originally from Gainesville, Florida (Go Gators). I am newly married to my lovely wife, Kenyetta, and together we are a beautifully blended family with seven children and one grandchild.
I served in the US Army for eight years as a food service Sergeant and was deployed to Turkey, Kuwait and Iraq. I recently retired from US Citizenship and Immigration Services after thirteen years of service with twenty-eight total years for the US government. Unfortunately, my kidney disease has taken a toll on my physical and mental health and forced me to hang up my civil service boots.
The root cause of my kidney disease is Lupus, and I have been reliant on dialysis to keep me alive since April 2023. I am an active walker which helps me keep my mind and body as healthy as it can be. When I have been blessed with a new kidney, I will be able to return to the more exciting side of me that loves to travel the world, attend concerts and sporting events regularly.
“Mostly importantly, I want to continue to be here for my family. To watch my kids and grandkids grow and thrive. And to spend many more years with my wonderful wife!”
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Reginald’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
