I served active-duty in the US Army from May 1979-May 1983 as a 21Golf, Pershing Electronics Material Specialist. From 1980-1982, I served with A Battery 1/81 FA at Wiley Barracks, Neu Ulm (West) Germany. Afterwards I served in the Individual Ready Reserve from May 1983 – January 1991. My decorations include a Good Conduct Medal and a Humanitarian Service Medal.
For the last 20 years, I have worked in Information Technology (IT) in various roles. Since relocating to New Mexico, I have not been able to work and am currently on disability. My wife and I have been married since October 2015 and two dogs that are part of our family.
My kidney disease was diagnosed in December 2020, and I have been reliant on peritoneal dialysis (PD) since August 2022. I would really enjoy being able to travel more and not have to bring all my dialysis supplies and equipment with me or have them drop shipped. With the gift of a living donor transplant, I would regain my health and the ability to live a life that gives me more freedom to do things I enjoy.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Randy’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
