Hi, I’m Paul. I served in the U.S Army from 03/07/1985 until 06/05/1992. My job in the Army was heavy wheel mechanic/recovery operations. I served 3 years in Germany. The things I enjoyed most about my service were the travel and the people I met along the way during my service. I was honorably discharged at the rank E5/Sgt.

In my civilian job, I worked for the US Postal Service for 26 years, and my job title was clerk. What I liked most about my time in the post office was the people I met and worked with throughout the years. I retired from the Youngstown post office in 2020.

I’ve been married to my wife Christine for 41 years. My wife retired as a nursing aide after 20 years. We have one son together, his name is Matt, and he’s 41 years old. No grandkids, unfortunately, but I do have 3 old English bulldogs who give us a run for our money, lol.

I’ve been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure for about a year now. I’m on dialysis 3 days a week. I’ve been doing dialysis for about seven months. It kicks my ass, but I keep pushing forward, because there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I have a small hobby farm with all kinds of animals, which my family and I take care of. It keeps me going and keeps me pushing through the hard days of dialysis and complications of kidney failure. With a kidney transplant, I would love to get back to the way I was before my diagnosis, which was strong and healthy. I’m limited on things I’m able to do because of my condition. A kidney transplant would give me the quality of life back I once had and allow me to spend many more happy years with my family and loved ones.

We need you to help us support Paul.  Whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor,  you can make a profound impact!

Living kidney donation has been proven to be safe.  There are no long term consequences to the donor.  After recovery, donors can live a normal life with one kidney.

DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the  evaluation or surgery.
