Hi, my name is Orlando. I proudly served in the United States Army. I entered ROTC in 1983, Army Reserve 1993-1994, and I served as Military Police  during my service. During my years of service, I learned the values of discipline, commitment, and putting others before myself. The friendships I built and the opportunity to serve my country are what I treasure most. My military experience shaped the person I am today and taught me to face challenges with strength and resilience.

After my military service, I dedicated my career to serving others through my work. I have always taken pride in working hard, being dependable, and providing for my family. The greatest satisfaction in my career has come from knowing I made a positive difference in the lives of others and earned the respect of those I worked with.

I am 64 years old and happily married to my wife, Shawn. Family is the center of my life. Together we have seven children, including two sets of twins and a set of triplets. We have been blessed with 29 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. They are my greatest joy, and I look forward to making many more memories with them. Their love and support have carried me through every step of this journey.

I have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). While there is no known family history of kidney disease, there is some history of diabetes in my family. Living with kidney disease has changed many aspects of my daily life, limiting my energy and making some activities more difficult than they once were. Receiving a kidney transplant would give me the opportunity to regain my strength, improve my quality of life, and spend more precious time with my family.

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I also enjoy being active in my community and helping others whenever I can. After receiving a kidney transplant, I hope to have the energy to enjoy family gatherings, travel, participate in activities I love, and continue creating lasting memories with the people who mean the most to me.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my story. Considering living kidney donation is an incredible act of kindness and generosity. A kidney transplant would not only improve my health—it would give me the chance to continue being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather for many years to come. I am deeply grateful for your consideration and your willingness to make a life-changing difference.
