I, Mosley Robinson-EL joined the United States Army as a Commissioned Officer on December 17, 1982, after successfully completing the 4-year ROTC Program and earning my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland. After successfully completing the Adjutant Generals (AG) Basic Officer Course at Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN, my family and I served 3 years in Wuerzburg, Germany, with the 3rd Infantry Division. As a senior First Lieutenant, I was assigned to the 3rd Division General Staff and the Assistant G1 Plans and Operations. I enjoyed this assignment because I developed organizational and coordination skills that assisted in deploying several units and their equipment from the United States to Germany and redeploying back to the United States.
In March 1986, I returned to Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN where I successfully completed the Adjutant Generals (AG) Advanced Officer Course. My family and I served 4 years with the Cincinnati Recruiting Battalion, Cincinnati, OH. In November 1989, I assumed command of the Cincinnati Suburban Recruiting Company which I was responsible for nine recruiting stations and 25 US Army and US Reserve Recruiters. This was by far the most challenging and rewarding assignment of my military career because I had to learn to trust my First Sergeant and to inspect what I expected. In 1990, I helped to lead this company to attain the highest recruiting mission accomplishment in the battalion which earned me the Meritorious Service Medal.
From April 1991 to June 1994, my family and I were assigned to Fort Lewis, Washington where I served on the First Corps General Staff and the 9th Personnel Service Battalion Staff. In June 1994, my family and I were assigned to Readiness Group, Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania where I served as the Chief, Adjutant General/Civil Affairs Team. We were assigned several US Reserve and Pennsylvania National Guard Units in Philadelphia, PA as Regular Army Advisors. After serving 13 plus years in the United States Army, I joined PepsiCo on July 29, 1996
I began my career with PepsiCo in Franklin, PA as an Account Development Representative (ADR). In 1997, I was promoted to Territory Sales Manager and relocated to Niagara, NY (just outside of Buffalo, NY). In March 1999, while still in Niagara, NY, I was promoted to Product Availability Manager. In March 2000, I was relocated to Piscataway, NJ where he performed in both roles as a Product Availability Supervisor and a Product Availability Manager. In September 2002, I was relocated to Newport News, VA and accepted a role as a Product Availability Supervisor where he led the 3rd Shift Bay Truck Loading Team, 2nd Shift Bulk and Bay Truck Loading Team, 2nd Shift GEO Truck Loading Team and 2nd Shift Transport Truck Loading Team. After 26 plus years of service, I decided to retire effective January 6, 2023, and continue to reside in the Newport News area.
I was born and raised in Northeast, Baltimore, Maryland, and I am the second oldest son of a family of five (2 brothers/2 sisters). My father transitioned in 1977 due to heart failure. My mother and the rest of my siblings still reside in Baltimore. I married my neighborhood sweetheart, and we have three sons, four grandsons and three granddaughters. My wife transitioned in 2021, and I am currently a widower.
I began to experience issues with my kidneys while in the military. After leaving the military, my Primary Care Doctor referred me to a Renal Specialist. While under the care of my Renal Doctor, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and after about ten years, I was referred to a dialysis clinic. I began home dialysis (Peritoneal Dialysis) at Fresenius Kidney Care in January 2024 and am currently waiting for a Kidney Transplant.
I am currently active in my community and church. I also work a part time job as a parts delivery driver. I enjoy reading, walking, biking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I am currently limited to traveling within two hours of my transplant centers. When I receive my kidney transplant, I plan to begin traveling to visit my family in Michigan, Colorado and Georgia. I also have a passion for photography that I would invest time in again.
