My name is Michael Grayson, and I served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4 in the Infantry 11 B 20 as a radio teletype. I was active-duty from 1967-1969 and spent time on deployment to Vietnam during the war. After my honorable discharge in 1969, I worked at the post office and the federal building as a painter until I retired with a disability from the government.

My wonderful wife Barbara and I have been married for 51years. We have been blessed with four children, three boys and one girl, who gave us 35 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren! I enjoy Pastoral Duties, fishing, and traveling.
I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2021 and put off dialysis until told my disease had progressed to Stage 4, and it was imperative that I no longer delay. So, in 2023, I started dialysis and will be reliant on it to keep me alive until a kidney donor can be found.
Some of my family members have tried to donate on my behalf but unfortunately, were declined due to health reasons. I am looking forward to receiving a kidney transplant and enjoying the rest of my life. It is not easy to need the generosity of another willing to help me so I can continue watching my family grow and spending as much time with them as I can.
Michael has enlisted the help of a Veteran’s organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran’s life!
Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for Michael? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
