I served in the United States Air Force from 1982-1994. My jobs in the military consisted of the following: support of Operations Desert Shield/Storm, Telephone and Data Circuitry, Communication/Computer systems Control, Digital Communications (Satellite, Microwave and Tele-Communication). I enjoyed the deployments and interacting with different cultures as I performed my duties nationally and internationally.
Presently, I am in the IT field, basically doing the same type of work I was doing while I was in the military. I am employed as a Senior Systems Engineer and enjoy the evolving world of technology and its many benefits to aid the military in efficiency and preparedness. I also have been pastoring a church since 1999.
I have been married for 34 years to my wife, Sharon. We have two adult children: a son and a daughter. My daughter passed away in 2018. She also suffered with kidney disease (other health issues) and was on hemodialysis. We are also the proud grandparents of a grandson and granddaughter.
I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (FSGS Kidney Disease) 15 years before I was placed on dialysis in 2020. I manage my dialysis treatment at home daily (peritoneal dialysis) and have been doing this for almost six years. I am continuing to lose weight and am not as strong as I used to be.
I enjoy reading/studying/teaching the Bible, working out at the gym, roller skating, traveling and participating in family/social activities. I would like to do more church outreach ministry in the community.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Marquis‘s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
