My name is Mark Jones, and I served in the US Army as an SP-4 Operating Room Tech for 128 Combat Support Unit in Ludwigsburg, Germany from 1973-1976. After my time in the military, I worked for the VA hospital in Brooklyn from 1976-1979 before moving on to the US Postal Service where I retired after 33 years of service.
I have been married to my wonderful wife for 22 years and we have been blessed with three young ladies and two granddaughters. Continuing to be a part of their lives is extremely important to me.
My kidney problems started three years ago, and I have been on dialysis for almost two years. The dialysis is helping my body get stronger as I wait for the opportunity to receive the gift of a kidney transplant. I like going for walks with my dog; I’m not back to skating or playing ball but I’m getting there.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Mark’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
