Valerie Riley

A living kidney donor chain enables not only a veteran to benefit from a living donor but at least one other recipient who was part of an inter-center chain.

Valerie Riley is a Staff Sergeant in the Ohio Army National Guard. She contacted DOVE after seeing a story from a military journal about Jon Wayne Taylor who donated altruistically to specifically help a Veteran in need. On August 11, 2021, she became DOVE Donor #4 and donated as part of a kidney donor chain.

Valerie stepped up to help a Veteran. She hopes her story will encourage others to do the same.
