My name is Jeffrey, and I served in the United States Army for 2 years as an Administrative Specialist stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland. I was responsible for the mail room and checking in/out the recruits for MOS tank mechanics training for a battalion headquarters.
After my military service, I attended technical college for computer programming. After graduation, I held different computer programmer / system analyst jobs until my retirement 35 years later.
While in school, I met my future wife, Julie. We have been married for 38 years now. As my health has declined, she has supported me in so many ways. We have one child, Crystal, who lives close by. Both of them help me up with doctor appointments and tasks around the house that I used to do.
I have been battling kidney disease since 2018. I’ve been receiving dialysis treatments 3 times a week starting in October 2024. After treatments have been rough. I find that normal everyday tasks have been getting increasingly difficult, relying on my family to fill in the gaps.
I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, so I enjoyed hunting and fishing most of my life. With dialysis, I find that even fishing is difficult now, but I would love to go again once I receive my kidney transplant and travel with my wife, which she so much deserves.
We need you to help us support Jeffrey. Whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, you can make a profound impact!
Living kidney donation has been proven to be safe. There are no long term consequences to the donor. After recovery, donors can live a normal life with one kidney.
DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
