My name is Gregory Sheppard, and I served nine years in the Army National Guard as an auto mechanic in the motor pool. At the time of my discharge, I was a Specialist 4.
In my civilian life, I worked as a truck driver for the state of New York for 19 years until I was injured at work. I fell off the loading dock and my kidney problems are a result of my injuries. I was blessed to have had a transplant in 2010, but unfortunately, it failed me in 2023 and now I am back on dialysis.
I am single and sadly my ex-wife passed away a year after our divorce. I have two adult children and look forward to having grandchildren someday. I enjoy outside games, walking, working on cars, and many other things, and I would really love to get my health back!
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Gregory’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
