Francis Stinson

Air Force | Deceased Donor

In 1981, I enlisted into US Air Force and was sent to Basic Training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. I was trained as a Missile Systems Analyst training for FB111/B52 system integration and support, was certified in missile systems, and maintained tech data, I also provided full support for combat readiness on Alert Pad and flightline. I attended the US Air Force Symposium at Barksdale AFB LA to receive the Best in SAC (Strategic Air Command) for closest to target and attended a meeting with Vice President Bush in a group conference. I assisted in development for flightline support to assist in design modifications and completed my tour of service in 1986.

I moved to California and worked for temporary agencies in Electronic Support. My initial job was working on fiber optic boards for the Space Shuttle, I spent time as a Quality Control Inspector for hard drives and worked for a company in quality control for shipping hard drives certification for shipment. I attained full time employment at Money for College in support for students in search of scholarships and maintained the database with updates. I transferred to Scholarship Data Service in further support for students with maintaining the database. I eventually moved over to working for many companies in the banking industry working on loans for homeowners and the government with FNMA.

In 2018, I found myself in the emergency room with trouble breathing and unable to eat. Upon diagnosis they found my prostate had enlarged to such that my ureter was blocked, and the urine was backed up into my stomach. Unfortunately, it affected my kidneys and caused them to go into renal failure and not long after I was placed on dialysis.

That same year I moved from California to New York, where I presently live, to support my 93-year-old father. I am 64 years old, not married and live alone. My kidney disease and dialysis have caused me to have some extremely tiring moments and weakness in my legs, but I continue to stay as active as I can. My biggest interest is in horticulture and seeing the plants develop. I have one room in the house dedicated to growing plants and have numerous plants in and around the house.
