According to the US Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans have a 34 % higher chance of having
kidney disease than the general population. And yet, Veterans’ rate of transplantation is significantly lower than non-Veterans’. This means Veterans are dying at higher rates as they wait for lifesaving transplantations.
Veterans have given years of their lives in service to our country – wouldn’t it be great if each Veteran in need of a kidney always received one?
DOVE (Donor Outreach for Veterans), a 501C3 non-profit, was founded by Sharyn Kreitzer, with this mission in mind.
