My name is Emit Newsome, and I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where I served for 22 years as an Administrative Supervisor during the Vietnam War. I truly enjoyed meeting new people and traveling around the world while performing my duties. After my military service, I worked with classified documents, keeping the United States’ secret information away from our enemies.
I miss my beautiful wife, Sandra, who passed away many years ago in a car accident, but I have my two children, Gerald and Nikki, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, who bring me great joy. My hobbies include fishing, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family, and I make it a point to support the sporting events of my grandchildren as often as I can.
My first kidney transplant was in 2011 and lasted eight years; I needed to start dialysis again and am now in need of a second transplant. I feel very exhausted after my treatments, and I am reaching out to you all in faith and hope that you can help me share my need far and wide. My heart would greatly appreciate a generous kidney donor and the gift of new life – to be healed and full of energy to enjoy outings with my family and friends. God is keeping me here for a purpose.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Emit’s life with the other!
Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
