Hello, my name is Daniel Deaton. I am 48 years old and have been battling kidney failure for the past 15 years. I joined the Marine Corps in 1997 and served as an Assault Amphibious Vehicle Crewman for four years.

After leaving the military, I utilized the GI Bill and now have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainability Management and an Associates In Architectural Design and Construction Technology.

I am currently living in Maine and have purchased a house with my mother, so I can help her in taking care of my Stepfather who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

I enjoy being outdoors (although the cold is getting a little much at times), spending time with family and friends, going on adventures, and spending time on the grill and the kitchen.

For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the  evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Daniel‘s life with the other!

Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
