Clemon Jones

Deceased Donor | Marine Corps

Clemon Jones enlisted in 1982 and spent five years in the Marine Corps Reserves. He accumulated two years of active-duty service performing duties at funerals, parades, and military functions. He was trained at Camp LeJeune as a radio operator and spent time in California, Oklahoma, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Clemon’s civilian job was in Facilities Management at Jackson State University in Mississippi, medically retiring after 30 years due to a back injury. Clemon and his wife, Hoshina, have been married for 17 years, and have three boys, and three grandchildren. They are active in their church, where Clemon sings in the choir and is a soloist. He volunteers with other men from his church and from Jackson State University to help those in need, focusing on the elderly and the homeless.

Between 2006-2007, Clemon battled cancer, GERD, and abdominal aneurysms causing his kidneys to begin to fail in 2008 but was able to stay off dialysis until March of 2023. He stays active and maintains a positive attitude. He loves to fish, work in his yard, do carpentry, and help people! Clemon moves forward with life “doing what he can do.”

For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been found to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Clemon’s life with the other!

Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
