My name is Clayton Newcomer.

I enlisted in the Air Force in June 1970 right after graduating from college with a degree in teaching. My service time started in Texas as an electric training specialist. I then went to Keesler AFB in Biloxi MS for 2 years as an instructor. My next assignment was in KhoKha Thailand for a year as a space object observer. Then back to the USA to Hill AFB in Ogden UT, a helicopter base, where I was a training specialist for a year.

Following 4 years in the Air Force I became a high school mathematics teacher in Pennsylvania.  After 8 years of teaching, I left teaching and joined my brother in starting a furniture manufacturing company. I spent 20 years in manufacturing and then went back to teaching, retiring in 2009.

I have been married to my wife for 55 years and we have 2 children, a son and a daughter, who are married and have given us 4 wonderful granddaughters between the ages of 9 and 16.My kidney disease was caused by diabetes which I have had for over 40 years. I started in center dialysis in 2024 and after several months started home hemodialysis, which allows me to do the dialysis on my own schedule. I have been on the transplant list for almost 4 years. Many family members have offered to donate a kidney but none have been acceptable.
Dialysis has put restrictions on our love of traveling. There are still some states here in this beautiful country that we have not been able to visit. A new kidney would allow us to continue our love of traveling and also spend more time with family that do not live near us

We need you to help us support Clayton.  Whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor,  you can make a profound impact!

Living kidney donation has been proven to be safe.  There are no long term consequences to the donor.  After recovery, donors can live a normal life with one kidney.

DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the  evaluation or surgery.
