For nearly eight years, I served our country as a Personnel Administration Sergeant in the U.S. Army, a foundation that led to a successful civilian career in various technical fields, most recently in cybersecurity.
My true passion, however, is being a father to my four wonderful children. We share a love for sports, music, video games, and anything that gets us outdoors. Whether it’s playing or cheering them on at sports games, practicing my photography, or just enjoying time with family and friends, these moments are what I live for.
Sadly, my diagnosis with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in 2023 has severely impacted my life. The constant, debilitating lack of energy has stolen my ability to participate fully in their lives.
I am asking for the gift of a living kidney donation so I can stop watching from the sidelines. I need to regain my health and energy to return to being an active father, a dedicated family man, and to fully embrace life again.
For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Carl‘s life with the other!
