Calvin Lassiter

I was active-duty in the US Army for four years and inactive for two years. My basic training was at Fort Knox, Kentucky. My primary job was as a scout in the 1st Cavalry at Fort Hood and 8th Infantry in Germany. I came out as an E5 Staff Sergeant.

When I returned home, I worked at Roses Warehouse for several years. I did carpentry and electrical work until my health would no longer allow me to continue.

My wife and I have been married for forty-seven years. We have one daughter, two sons, six grandchildren, and two great grands. They all are a lot of help to me and keep me very entertained. We are continuing to multiply as another great grand is on the way. My family is my greatest joy.

I have been on dialysis since October of 2022. I was diagnosed with kidney disease and struggled with it for several years before we got to that point. It has limited my livelihood tremendously and has been a big change in lifestyle.

I love the mountains and very much miss our weekend trips. My energy levels do not allow me to do this anymore. I love Nascar Racing and share this with my Grandsons. I also miss hunting and fishing with my sons.

For medically cleared donors, giving the gift of life through living kidney donation has been proven to be very safe. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery. A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save Jason‘s life with the other!

Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
