My name is Ardrix Wyatt, and I was born and raised in Livingston, TX. I graduated in 1995 and enlisted in the Navy in February 1996. I retired in February 2023 after 27 years of service as a Senior Chief Electrician. During my tour, I made 7 deployments with 15 years of sea time. My awards included: three Meritorious Service Medals, two Navy Commendation Medals, five Navy Achievement Medals, and a Coast Guard Unit Commendation.

I married my wife, Marisol Rodriguez, in 2005, and I married into a relationship with two stepchildren. This resulted in five grandchildren: Jonathan (16), Anthony (13), Zekel (9), Keron (7), and Katalaya (1). For a man who doesn’t have any biological kids, it feels great to be able to raise them and see their growth, especially now that I have a granddaughter. I call her my strawberry. Anthony and Katalaya both took their first steps with me. I was diagnosed with kidney issues in 2017 when the doctor gave me medicine that hurt my kidneys to lower my blood pressure. I have always been someone who stays active, engaged, and connected to my community. Some of the activities I enjoy most include hands‑on projects, whether that’s repairing something around the house or building something new. I also value time outdoors, especially activities that help me decompress and stay grounded, like walking and playing with my grandchildren.

Looking ahead to life post‑transplant, I hope to return to the routines and hobbies that keep me balanced. I’m especially eager to be part of a family, like traveling and enjoying my grandchildren. Also, I would love to get more active in the gym and become employed.
