My name is Alex Earnest.  I served three years in the Army active duty and one year in the National Guard as a crew chief on the cobra helicopters and a secondary MOS crew chief on Huey helicopters. My duties were to maintain and to keep in high standards of the United States Army. My primary function in the beginning were performing hanger inspections, and then I was able to move to flight line duties in which I learned the respect and love of Aviation.

When I left the military, I utilized the G.l. bill to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where I received an associate’s degree in maintenance technology and my airframe and power plant aircraft mechanics license. After I graduated, I had a very diversified and fulfilling career for 40 years traveling around the world with different major corporate companies instructing proper techniques, and gaining the respect of the Aviation industry.

In my travels, I found my beautiful wife of 26 years in Saudi Arabia. She’s from the Philippines.  We fell in love and have a beautiful lasting relationship. We never had kids but I fell in love with her family in Manila and all the relatives. They are just loving people.

It’s been the better part of over two years since I started dialysis in which are a 3 1/2 hour session 3 times a week. This has been very hard for my life and work as I have retired and have been asked to help a family member with his Flight Academy. My joy in life has first and foremost, been with my wife, and secondly, my love of Aviation.

Our dream towards the future once I receive my kidney transplant, would be to travel back to the Philippines to visit family and possibly buy a house so we can enjoy the company and love of our family.
